Children's Ministry
Here at First Free Will Baptist Church, we take great delight in children’s work. We believe that “children are
an heritage of the Lord” (Ps. 127:3) and with the help of godly parents, we are to work together to “train up a
child in the way he should go” (Prov. 22:6). This is why we offer many different programs for our young children.
Sunday school is provided for children of every age with caring teachers who bring them lively lessons from the
Bible. Following Sunday school, the children can go to either Children’s Church for ages 3-6 or to our Junior
Church for ages 7-12, where services are conducted on their level. (We also provide a Junior Church for children
4-12 during our early service.) On Sunday afternoons our junior choir, Joyful Noise, meets (if your child enjoys
singing) to practice and perform exciting songs, skits, musicals, and dramas. On Wednesday nights, juniors,
ages 7-12, meet for Patch Club, where they learn important lessons about being a Christian. As a part of this
Club, each member is challenged to spend time with God daily as they work through their Patch Book. Members
also have the opportunity to memorize Bible verses and learn songs and speaking parts for the various dramas/skits
they perform. Children ages 3-6 also meet on Wednesday nights for Cubbie Bears, where they hear stories,
sing songs, and color pictures from their lesson.
Fun activities are also a part of our children’s ministry. We take trips to King’s Dominion, the zoo, the park
and various restaurants. We have church lock-ins, where we roller skate, play games and, of course, eat.
Around Easter, we have an Egg Hunt and we offer a Fall Festival as an alternative to Halloween. We sometimes
decorate a float for the Christmas parade and have even been to Disney on Ice! So come and join us today –
you’ll be glad you did!
